Our powder-on-powder coating process transfers our unique wood grain finishes onto a powder-coated surface. This finish combines the aesthetic appeal of wood with the practical advantages of metal, making it a popular choice for both interior and exterior applications which perform very well in Australian conditions

General Maintenance

The beauty of Batten Pro lies in its low-maintenance design. To clean off dirt or grime, simply use a garden hose. For more thorough cleaning, a soft sponge or a car-washing brush with gentle bristles is ideal. Avoid using stiff-bristled brushes or abrasive cleaners, as these can scratch the finish and damage the powder coating.

Warranties

For a period of 15 years from the date of purchase, Batten Pro warrants that the Battens will not warp, split, crack or corrode independently of the structure to which the product is attached to. This batten must be installed level and as per install guidelines. For further information, please refer to your installation or product brochure and refer to the warranty section.

The below points are not covered under warranty:

1. Damage by storm, tempest, natural disasters (including but not limited to cyclones, floods or others severe weather conditions or unusual climatic conditions), growth of mould, mildew, fungi, bacteria, or any other organism on the surface of the product, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of Batten Pro.

2. Variations in timber look patterns;

3. Variations in colour in different production runs or batches;

4. Small blemishes on the surface of the Product; and

5. Labour or Freight including costs associated with removing or replacing the defective product due to any reasons that aren’t in Batten Pro’s control.

6. Defective material due to incorrect installation methods or poor contracting.

Cutting

Please check both ends of the batten or extrusion prior to install as all coated items will generally have screw holes on either side, meaning you will need to trim back 50-100mm off the batten due to the powder coating process.

Install Considerations

Prior to commencing the installation of Batten Pro, ensure that all building wraps, flashing tapes and batten systems are installed to their manufacturer’s specifications and requirements.

1. The Installer/Builder is required to check that all exterior walls, regardless of their location, have the necessary flashings, air barriers, seals and waterproofing sheets to meet the requirements of the BCA.

2. It is very important to ensure that, when you start installing the top board, it is perfectly level. The top hat may require packing out to ensure the battens sit flush when installed.

3. If the batten is to be installed flush to an end surface, ensure at least 10mm of clearance is provided to allow the batten cover to click over the base. To ensure a straight, consistent and parallel installation, it is strongly recommended that a level is used to position each base.

Adhesive Secure-End Cap

As part of the Batten Pro product range, end caps are available in colour-matched options to suit all batten profiles. Depending on the profile, the end cap will be shaped so that two legs fit into the profile and can be securely attached using a strong adhesive to ensure a tight fit. We recommend that you apply high-quality adhesive to each of the legs or edges as depicted and insert it into the click batten. Take care to ensure that no adhesive is applied to the visible surface of the extrusion or end cap. Ensure that the end cap is securely fastened in place until the adhesive sets.
